THE FAMILY of a mum missing for more than three days have launched their own search for her.

Maggie Smythe has been missing since Saturday morning and her family are “heartbroken” that she has not returned home.

Maggie's sister Tammy Smythe organised a search of Leverhulme Park with friends lending a hand.

Maggie is a cleaner at Bolton Bus Station in Newport Street and has a three-year-old daughter, Madison.

She was last seen by her mother at their home in Swinside Road, Breightment after her partner dropped her off from a night out.

Ms Smythe said: "“She’s never gone missing before, we’re just worried as a family now.

“I don’t know how to feel, I’ve a three-year-old daughter who keeps asking for her but what do you say to a child? I have no idea.”

She is close to her sister and Ms Smythe's daughter Gracie plays with Madison.

Maggie has not been seen at work since she vanished and Ms Smythe said: "That’s not her. She works at the bus station as a cleaner, she’s always on time.”

Maggie's family are extra worried for her because she suffers from seizures. Ms Smythe explained if she takes a knock, for example to her elbow she can get overheated and pass out before having a seizure.

Maggie was last seen wearing black jeans with a vest top, a green fur lined coat and grey trainers.

She is described as being slim, 5 feet 4 inches tall, with shoulder length black hair.

When she came home on Saturday she had a short conversation with her mum before her mum went to bed. Later that night her mum came downstairs again to find the lounge light left on and Maggie had vanished.

Ms Smythe said: “That’s the worst part the unknown. I’ve tried everybody possible that I know she does know and where she could have been.

“I would want her to know we just want her to come home and let us know she is safe.”

Anyone who sees Maggie Smythe, knows of her whereabouts of has any information is asked to call police on 101.
