YOUNG carers were invited onto 96.5 Bolton FM to host their own radio show.
Raising awareness of the challenges faces by young people who care for others, 10-year-old Rhys and 14-year-old April asked listeners to pledge support for the town’s young carers.
Rhys and April are two members of Young Voices, the new carer initiative run by Bolton FM to empower youngsters to create change. The pair hosted a live two hour show on Thursday sharing all of their experiences. They also got the chance to put their questions to local politicians, including the Chief Executive of Bolton Council, Tony Oakman. Workshops at the station allow them to develop communication skills too.
