Nesting pigeons die after motorbike set on fire
AN abandoned BMW motorbike, thought to have been stolen was set alight this evening, with the fire leading to the death of nesting pigeons.
Firefighters were called to Devoke Avenue in Walkden just after 9pm.
The incident caused the death of a number of the birds nesting under the railway bridge, where the bike had been abandoned.
Fire crews from Farnworth informed the police and were on the scene for just over half-an-hour.
