A "GASTRO" hub could be created on the outskirts of the town centre.

As a new luxury dessert bar gets close to opening, an application has been put in to open a cafe two doors down.

Haute Dolci is opening soon in Bradshawgate's Caroline House and a Mr R Anwar is applying to change the use of a office in the building's groundfloor.

Mr Anwar's application reveals he already has a tenant lined up to fill the spot.

The cafe would "complement" Haute Dolci say Mr Anwar's planners.

The planners, Inspire Planning Solutions argue that a new cafe, will offer something different to the dessert bar.

They say: "The applicant sees great opportunity to create a mini 'gastro' area where different offers/cuisines can be found, adding to vibrancy and vitality whilst having a positive knock-on effect."

Mr Anwar has submitted a change of use application for 127 Bradshawgate to turn existing offices in the groundfloor of Caroline House into a cafe offering coffee and light snacks.

A statement submitted with the application form says: “The applicant confirms interest from a prospective occupier that would utilise no.127 for a different offer with coffee and light snacks such as toasties, wraps and sandwich’s being the main focus.”

Work has started at Haute Dolci, which was first mooted in 2017, and signs are going up in the windows promoting the chain's social media as well as touting job opportunities at the new location.
