A BODY found on the train line near to Lostock railway station yesterday morning has been confirmed as that of a man in his 20s.

Police have launched an investigation into the man's cause of death after his body was spotted by a member of railway staff at around 6.20am.

Paramedics were called but pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The incident resulted in all rail lines between Bolton and Preston being shut for much of yesterday morning, causing mass train cancellations, delays and diversions.
