A BOLTON MP had his office "vandalised" by anti-Brexit campaigners overnight.

Chris Green MP for Bolton West arrived at his office in Westhoughton to find an EU flag sticky taped to his sign and a handful of anti-Brexit stickers stuck to his shutters.

Mr Green tweeted about the protest, laying blame with European Union leaders who had suggested those who promoted Brexit were heading for hell.

Yesterday the President of the European Council Donald Tusk said: "I've been wondering what that special place in hell looks like, for those who promoted Brexit, without even a sketch of a plan how to carry it out safely."

His comments were echoed by Guy Verhofstadt, president of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe on the European Parliament. Mr Verhofstadt tweeted: "Well, I doubt Lucifer would welcome them, as after what they did to Britain, they would even manage to divide hell."

On seeing the protest outside his office this morning Mr Green said: "With Donald Tusk condemning Leave voters to hell and Guy Verhofstadt saying that we’d divide Lucifer from his minions, we can see how the European Union leadership are toxifying the debate over Britain’s democratic future.

"This is the vandalism I found at my office this morning."
