THE most recent data released by the Department for Transport shows that 4,069 car accidents were recorded in Greater Manchester in 2017.
Of those, 251 happened within the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton.
After analysing data from Greater Manchester Police, we can reveal the top five accident hotspots in Bury:
1) Agecroft Road, on the junction with Kersal Vale Road, and Rainsough Brow - Four separate incidents between March 2017 and March 2018.
2) Ainsworth Road on the junction of Newbold Street - Three separate incidents between March 2017 and March 2018.
3) Peel Way on the junction of Walmersley Road - Three separate incidents between March 2017 and March 2018.

4) Bell Lane on the junction with Wash Lane and Brook Street - Three separate incidents between March 2017 and March 2018.
5) Water Street between the Tesco car park entrance and Ainsworth Road - Two separate incidents between March 2017 and March 2018.
