WANDERERS are to be hit with another winding-up petition from HMRC, The Bolton News understands.
The club is expected to receive written notice next week of the latest petition, which is the sixth issued by Revenue and Customs in 16 months to Bolton and its associated businesses.
Court listings confirm it was filed on Monday, February 4, to the Bolton Wanderers Football and Athletic Company. No court date is yet known.
Ken Anderson is currently in the process of trying to sell the club and has been in talks with two different parties over the last week.
A consortium fronted by London-based businessman Parminder Basran looked close to striking a deal last weekend but fell down after a late disagreement over terms.
He is now back in the running alongside another bid, led by a North West businessman.
All the details on the takeover talks, and what we know so far, are here.
Anderson confirmed on Monday that he was in “detailed talks” to sell, adding: “I am sure that you will appreciate I am unable to give you details at this stage. When there is something to say you the supporters will be the first to know through the usual club channels.”
