POLICE are hunting for two men who were involved in an assault which left a man in hospital with head wounds.

The pair are thought to have been part of an incident during which a man was punched in the head and knocked to the ground.

As he hit the road, the man, aged 42, hit his head on the pavement and had to be taken to hospital because of the severity of his injuries.

The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, January 30, near to Barton Street, off Long Causeway, in Kearsley.

While the identities of the offenders are unknown, they have been described by police as white men in their mid-20s, wearing dark clothing and hoods.
