A THEATRE school is celebrating its first anniversary with an expansion.

Taylor's Theatre Academy is hoping to move into an old Co-operative store to offer more classes and increase its variety.

Stacey Taylor, who runs the academy has big plans to start offering adult classes and more classes for children starting earlier in the day.

She said: "We have 70 students that attend from Bolton, we had to get a building that's bigger. At the moment we're limited as to what times we hold classes."

Miss Taylor plans to turn the former Co-operative food store in Ainsworth Lane into a two-studio theatre school with a singing studio as well.

She also hopes to be able to offer community events like knit and natter and mother and baby classes.

A change of use application has been submitted by Miss Taylor to Bolton Council in January which she hopes will be approved soon by planning officers.

The Co-operative owns the building and Miss Taylor will let it initially but hopes the move goes well enough to buy it at a later stage.

As well as the studios Miss Taylor plans a lounge area for children to wait for their classes or hang out with friends.

Taylor's Theatre Academy celebrated it's first anniversary on Sunday and in the year it has been open the students have been able to perform in the Albert Halls and Blackpool Winter Gardens.

This year 10 of them will perform at Benidorm Palace on the Costa Blanca and a show is already planned at Disneyland Paris in 2020.
