PUPILS at The Derby High School are staging their very own version of High School Musical.

A cast in excess of 50 enthusiastic students are set to debut their high-energy performance tomorrow night.

The production, which is running for three consecutive evenings, is supported by volunteers from across the school who have been working behind the scenes to produce dazzling costumes, set construction and assist with stage management.

A school spokesman said: "High School Musical is an exciting and energetic performance, which offers students a whole range of learning opportunities encompassing all areas of the arts.

"It provides an excellent vehicle for enhancing students’ life skills such as communication, team work, problem solving and confidence building.

"Importantly, all proceeds raised by the event will be channelled back into future school and community projects.

"It will be an unforgettable journey."

The show runs from 7pm this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night.

Tickets are available on the door at £4 for children, £6 for adults and £18 for a family ticket.
