TWO women were taken to hospital after a crash at rush hour.

A silver Audi was left upturned on its roof after a two-vehicle collision in Smithills Deane Road.

The two vehicles were carrying five people when the incident occurred shortly before 5pm on Wednesday, February 13.

Police and fire crews attended the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Two women suffered cuts and bruises and were taken to hospital for treatment."

Two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance also attended.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at about 4.45pm to a collision between two vehicles.

"There were five people in the vehicles involved.

"One ambulance went to hospital.

"There were only minor injuries."
