FOUR men were taken into custody for questioning after a helicopter and police pursuit.
A police dog unit, traffic officers, the road policing unit (RPU) and a National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter were called upon to chase down a silver Peugeot.
The vehicle was pursued through Halliwell, in Bolton, before making its way into the town centre.
Officers used a police stinger — a vehicle-stop device — to impede the movement of the car.
Greater Manchester Police's traffic officers tweeted about the pursuit: "The vehicle came to an immediate stop and three men made off.
"With the help of NPASBarton we were able to detain all three men nearby.
"The driver and passenger were chased on foot in School Hill and a further male was detained by our police dog.
"The vehicle was seized.
"Dangerous driving and failing to stop — the driver will have some questions to answer at court."
The police operation took place in the early hours of yesterday morning.
