THE OWNER of Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe was carjacked yesterday afternoon in a shocking ordeal outside her own home.

Marie Walsh, aged 80, was arriving home after work when the thief jumped into her car and made off with it as she was opening her gate.

She had been shopping on her way home so along with her black, C Class Mercedes, the thief got away with her shopping, ironing and iPad.

The Bolton News:

Mrs Walsh said: "It was so quick. The police said they think they have been following me because it was so quick.

"I didn't really see the person, it was a hooded person, I think it was a boy or a man."

The carjacking happened at about 4pm yesterday in Junction Road, Deane, Mrs Walsh's registration number is PE08 KPP.

Mrs Walsh said the police arrived quickly and after viewing CCTV from a neighbour told her a "bigish" Volvo had arrived in Junction Road and a passenger had jumped out and taken her car while she was opening the gate.

Mrs Walsh told The Bolton News she ran out into the road to try and flag down a car to stop them.

She said: "A lady who stopped said there has been people wandering up and down the road and cars driving up and down."

Mrs Walsh's daughter Kay Harrison has offered a reward for names of the offenders on social media.

She posted: Marie Walsh was just carjacked outside her house. A reward for the names of the scum who did this is being offered."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at 4.07pm to a report of a car being taken in Junction Road, Bolton."
