AFTER Britain enjoyed its warmest Valentine's Day in more than 20 years, sunny spells are set to continue this weekend.

The Met Office says a high of 16.1C (61F) was recorded in the Welsh town of Bala making it the warmest 14 February since 1998.

And the forecast is looking good for the start of half term too with temperatures this weekend topping Athens in Greece.

Temperatures are set to hit 14 degrees today with blue sky and sunshine forecast throughout.

It will remaining dry and very mild tomorrow but there will be more cloud around compared with today.

Some bright or sunny spells may develop from time to time as well.

Sunday will be another mild day with highs of 14 degrees while Athens will struggle to get over 9 degrees on Saturday or 13 degrees on Sunday.

The current Met Office forecast is for a cooler Monday with the occasional showery bursts of rain.

Tuesday will be mainly dry with lighter winds and some sunshine.
