AN elderly couple were threatened by a masked man armed with a screwdriver and crowbar.
The couple, in their 80s, were left shaken after a man wearing a balaclava robbed them in their home in the early hours of this morning.
The man threatened the elderly residents and demanded they hand over their money.
He fled from the property in Hesketh Manor, Atherton, on foot, getting away with just £4 in cash.
The police have appealed for anyone with information about the robbery, which occurred at about 4.40am, to contact them.
