FIVE men have been charged in connection with the murder of a man in Bury.
Edward Fitzgerald, 50, of Walmersley Road, Bury has been charged with the murder of 50-year-old Raymond Dixon.
Anthony Dennison, 44, of no fixed address and Lee Hopkinson, 30, of no fixed address have been charged with manslaughter and robbery.
Dean Murray, 50, of Heyside Way, Bury and Wayne Englebert, 40, also of Heyside Way, have been charged with perverting the course of justice.
They have been remanded to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 18.
A 39-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder was released under investigation pending further enquires.
At around 1.25am on Tuesday, February 12, police were called by the ambulance service to reports that the body of a man had been found at a property on Myrtle Street North in Bury.
Officers attended and discovered the body of Mr Dixon. The investigation remains ongoing.
