COLLEGE students gave up their time to give a popular youth centre a makeover.

The Prince’s Trust organised for 10 pupils from Worsley College to get creative, bringing their brushes and painting the inside of Zac's Youth Bar, in Market Street.

The youngsters ran the project from start to finish, firstly by raising funds through bag packing to purchase paint and equipment, as well as approaching businesses for donations of materials.

They then set about planning and then worked for four days to transform the community hub.

Tracey Wilkinson, from Zac’s, said “The staff here at Zac’s are so grateful for the time and effort the students put into providing us with a fresh look and a blank canvas for our young people to add some finishing touches. It was amazing to see young people eager to give something back to the generation below them."

She added: "We can’t believe how much bigger our venue looks. We would like to say a massive thank you to each one of them."

Zac's still needs help with refurbishment. Any volunteers should contact getinvolved@zacsyouthbar.co.uk.
