SHE may only be eight but Fern O’Brien has a towering ambition to raise funds for Comic Relief.
In just one morning she aims to run up hills to Darwen Tower, Peel Tower and Rivington Pike.
“I like running,” said Fern who has been a member of Horwich Harriers since the tender age of five.
Her charity effort will see her running up Darwen Hill, Holcombe Hill and Rivington - a total elevation of 1,300ft and a distance of 6.5 miles.
Fern’s proud dad, Paul, who will be accompanying her on the run, said: “She was asking me a lot of questions about Comic Relief and when she learned what it was all about she decided to use her love of running to raise money.
“I’m very pleased and proud of her.”
Fern will be hitting the heights on Sunday, March 10, and you can donate via:https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ferns-mini-3-peak challlenge
