FOLLOWING the news that demolition of a former town centre car dealership will cause traffic disruption for more than three months, here is a round up of all the other roadworks in effect this week:
Bolton
Bradshaw Road
Along with the closure of a lane in Bradshawgate for the demolition works, a lane has also been closed in Bradshaw Road, at the Maple Street junction.
This is to allow Vodafone to carry out telecoms work.
The lane has been closed since Sunday February 24 but is due to reopen today.
Church Road
Temporary traffic lights are in effect in Church Road from number 223 down to Ivy Road.
This is to allow Cadent Gas to install a new gas main and works are set to continue until Thursday March 21.
Colliers Row
Temporary traffic lights are in place for three months while Highways carry out works to Dean Brook culvert.
Work is set to be completed by Friday May 3.
Darwen Road
Temporary traffic lights are in place during off-peak hours while United Utilities carry out water works.
The road is due to be back to normal by Thursday.
Smithills Dean Road
Temporary traffic lights are in place until Tuesday March 12 to allow Highways to construct a watercourse diversion and manholes.
Weston Street
Off-peak temporary traffic lights will be in effect on Wednesday February 27, at the Viking Street junction.
United Utilities are carrying out water works.
Wigan Road/Hunger Hill
Temporary traffic lights will be in place during off-peak hours until Sunday March 10.
It is to allow Siemens to do traffic signal upgrades.
Blackrod
Station Road
Temporary traffic lights will be in effect until Thursday February 28, while Electricity North West carry out work.
Kearsley
Stoneclough Road
Off-peak temporary traffic lights are in place at the railway bridge until Sunday March 1.
This is to allow Network Rail to carry out a survey and install monitoring equipment.
