AMAZON has announced 45 new apprenticeships in Bolton ahead of National Apprenticeships Week.

Starting on Monday March 4, opportunities will be available to join apprenticeship schemes in Operations, IT and Engineering.

The schemes are designed to suit candidates with a range of experience, from those with life skills to school leavers who are over the age of 18, with GCSEs or A-levels. An apprentice who currently works in the Amazon fulfilment centre, in Logistics North has encouraged people to apply.

Nicola Elliott, 27, is a Process Automation apprentice and is two years into her four-year apprenticeship with Amazon and Trafford College.

She is one of six apprentices currently working at the Bolton site.

Ms Elliott said: “One of the things I enjoy most about the Amazon Apprenticeship programme is that every day is varied. The first year of the apprenticeship was residential-based, where we studied full-time at college. The course was really enjoyable and it was great having the opportunity to live with my fellow apprentices. I am now based on-site at Amazon in Bolton. It has been great to meet the team and to put into practice some of the things we learned at college.

"Every opportunity is a learning opportunity. It’s okay to make mistakes and there’s no such thing as silly questions.

“Amazon offers lots of opportunities to learn. There is a generous salary and plenty of opportunities to progress. Don’t think about applying, just apply! Get your application in early, be honest, be prepared and show enthusiasm."
