A HOME in Breightmet has become the surprising destination for more than 500 visitors from across the world.

Travellers from China, Australia, Malaysia and South Korea have visited Michelle Dolan's property after it went up on travel site AirBnB.

The 33-year-old teaching assistant first bought the property in 2013 and had planned to renovate it with her partner, but after a breakup was left working on the home herself.

She continued to work on it and put it up to rent around two and a half years ago after using AirBnB on a visit to the US.

Since then, the two-bedroom semi-detached home has been extremely busy, with travellers visiting from a host of unusual locations.

The property can be rented for around £95 a night.

Now, alongside her new partner Kevin Kehoe, Ms Dolan says there are a range of reasons for people to come to Breightmet.

"It isn't exactly a holiday destination but we have people coming all the time," she said.

"It's a good spot for people because it's close to Manchester and has links to Liverpool and the Lake District.

"If they stayed in a hotel it would cost a fortune and they would have to eat out every night but we have a fully stocked kitchen."

Ms Dolan and her partner are now 'Superhosts' on AirBnB because of their high ratings and have been so successful that they were able to buy a new home together in Smithills.
