AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a fire started inside a commercial building.
Firefighters from Bolton Central and Bolton North stations were called to a blaze inside the Tonge Fold Mill building on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire within an hour of arriving and nobody is thought to have been injured as a result of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but an investigation has been launched over suspicions it was started deliberately.
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 5.20pm, three fire engines were sent to the scene.
"They used four pieces of breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire."
Firefighters returned to the scene this morning to conduct checks and ensure the building is safe.
