IT is easy to find newly-opened business, Soapy Skin, - just follow your nose.

The delicious scents emanating from the upper floor of Market Place are the work of Janet Shorrocks and her husband, David.

Their skincare products allow guilt-free indulgence as they are all natural and organic.

"We are fiercely against animal cruelty so none of our products are tested on animals," said Janet, 50.

"Our love of the earth guides us to providing eco-friendly packaging and supports our customers who wish to reduce the amount of plastic that they have in their bathroom."

Necessity certainly was the mother of invention when Soapy Skin was born five years ago.

"I suffer from eczema and I couldn't find anything on the market I could use on my skin without causing irritation so I did some research and created my own Goats Milk Honey Oats Soap," said David, 51.

They began giving the soap to family and friends and the positive reaction encouraged David to give up his job an engineer, and Janet to leave teaching, so they could commit fully to the new business.

Originally working from home, they went on to an industrial unit at Moses Gate and a shop at the appropriately named Bath Street before their latest move to Market Place.

As business grew their product line evolved beyond bath toiletries and today Soapy Skin offers a face care range, a foot care range, massage oils and the extremely popular sensitive skin care range.
