A ONE night stay is being offered in one of Bolton most stunning and intriguing buildings, which for decades has been shut to the public.

Now following a multi-million pound restoration programme of the historic Rivington Gardens, including the landmark tower, one lucky person will win an overnight stay with their family or friends.

A stay in the Grade II French-gothic style tower is being raffled off next month to launch a new fundraising initiative to support the gardens after the National Lottery funded restoration is complete. This is the first raffle and is set to become an annual fundraising event.

And the stay in the tower, which was Lady Leverhulme's reading room, is undoubtedly the jackpot prize. The tower, built in the 1910, has a spiral staircase, with the top room with a fire and the floor below will be the sleeping area.

Rivington Heritage Trust are hoping businesses will come forward to provide four cash prizes of £200, £150, £100 and £50.

Those who can help should email explore@rivingtonterracedgardens.co.uk. More information can also be found on Facebook under Rivington Terraced Gardens.

The raffle will launch in April.
