Take a walk in the park

AFTER a weekend of wet weather let your children enjoy the outdoors again.

The Hive in Moss Bank Park, hosts a weekly play programme for youngsters called Nature Tots.

The sessions are based around interactive activities, focused on exploring the outdoors.

Activities include environmental arts and crafts, minibeast hunts, games, storytime and much more. Wellies and waterproof suits can be provided.

Hear the music of a legend

ICONIC composer Hans Zimmer is coming the the Manchester Arena this week.

He is the man behind theme songs for hit films such as Gladiator, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Catch his show on Wednesday, March 20 from 8pm.

See the work of a local talent

SEE some of the work of a talented local artist.

The Gallery at Harwood Library has been transformed into an exhibition of the work of Angela Payne.

The rooms, on the upper floor, accessed via a spiral staircase, will remain the home of this talent artist throughout March.

All the pieces on show are for sale.

The library building, on Hough Fold Way, is open every day except for Wednesdays.

Get a glimpse into the past

TAKE a step into the colourful past of the LGBT community.

Bolton Central Library's latest exhibition transforms the building with personal tales, history and images.

Bolton is the only place in the North of England to host the exhibits, which are on tour from the British Museum and are inspired by Professor Richard Parkinson’s award-winning book, ‘A Little Gay History.

A tale of the Great War

THE emotional story of a First World War soldier from Great Lever tried for desertion is to be brought to life in a new production.

Farnworth Little Theatre’s production of Early One Morning by Bolton playwrite Leslie Smith tells of the ordeals soldiers went through during one of the worst periods in Britain's recent history.

The show runs all week at the venue in Cross Street, Farnworth.
