BOY band NXT GEN, featuring some exciting Bolton talent, were left literally jumping for joy as they made it through to the live semi-finals of The Voice.

This week's episode saw 12 artists battle it out to keep their place in the ITV competition.

It was the first of two knock-out rounds in which only two contestants from each of the show's four coaches' groups will land a place in the semis.

For this round each of the four coaches — Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs — also enlisted the help of celebrity judges; Years and Years singer Olly Alexander, Anne-Marie, James Arthur and Nicole Scherzinger.

In an emotional night the coaches were forced to take some very tough decisions about who they were going to take to the next round.

But after a nail-biting wait NXT GEN, which features Cian Gleeson from Horwich, secured their spot on Team Will after impressing with an upbeat performance of Runnin’ by Naughty Boy ft. Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin.

The trio are now just one step away from the final and will next appear live on March 30

The Voice continues this Saturday on ITV at 7.30pm.
