INTENTIONS remain unchanged regarding the future of a Farnworth mill a year after plans to sell the multi-million pound property fell through.
The owner of Century Mill, Chadrakant Khajuria, have confirmed that while the property may be put up for sale again in the future there are no such plans at present.
Last March the mill in George Street was put up for auction with a guide price at between £1.5 million and £2 million but failed to reach its reserve price despite bids getting up to £1.9million.
Since then no changes have been made to the building, and all occupants and tenants remain the same and pay the same rent.
However Bernard Perrin, who managed the property for Mr Khajuria, has retired aged 88.
Mr Khajuria, who is in his 80s, said: “I don’t know whether I will keep the mill or sell it but I don’t think anything will change in the immediate future. The same business, people and tenants are still there and the rent has stayed the same as well. However I may think of selling it if I get good money.”
