A 21-YEAR-OLD driver tried to trick police into believing he was 42.
The man was stopped by officers from GMP's traffic division at around 6pm on Saturday in Highfield Road, Farnworth.
Police became suspicious after he claimed to be 42 years old and performed checks which showed the vehicle he was driving, a white Vauxhall Combo van, was not insured.
A GMP spokesman posted a photo of the van on social media, explaining what had happened.
They said: "[We] stopped this Vauxhall Combo off Highfield Road, Farnworth.
"Having tried to convince me that he was 42, the driver eventually admitted that he had no insurance and was found to be in fact 21 years old."
Following the incident, the driver was reported to the courts for driving without insurance.
The van was seized while police make enquiries with the owner of the vehicle, who is not thought to be the 21-year-old.
