A CAR stolen from Horwich was discovered by police this morning bearing false licence plates.
Officers had been searching for the vehicle since it was reported stolen on March 11, and it was spotted in the early hours on a street in Radcliffe.
After finding it on the road, police cars boxed in the dark coloured Citroen and detained the driver.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft, as well as having no licence or insurance. The vehicle is thought to have been involved in a number of criminal incidents during the period in which it was stolen.
Following the arrest, the driver was handed over to Bolton police for further investigation.
