AWARD-winning Tyldesley Little Theatre which had audiences gripped with its last play is preparing to bring another thriller to the stage.

The company will present "Something to Hide" by celebrated writer Lesley Sands, which will see the return of veteran actress, director and chairwoman Jenny Whur to the stage who joins other favourite and well established actors together with new younger members.

Set in a charming house in the English countryside, the story revolves around Howard Holt a writer with an eye for the ladies who not only has a wife but a mistress too.

Cue a sudden death, blackmail and one unexpected turn after another the plot bound to keep the audience on the edge of their seats in suspense.

The play comes as the theatre company celebrates success on the red carpet.

Jennifer Washington from Tyldesley Little Theatre, said: "The theatre has enjoyed much success this season with bumper ticket sales for The Vicar of Dibley, Jack and the Beanstalk and Snake in the Grass. "Only last week the Greater Manchester Drama Federation published their adjudication review which highlighted the theatre’s last thriller Snake in the Grass for 'strong performances' 'enthusiastic direction' and 'fabulous presentation and technical support'.

"Tyldesley Little Theatre members are also celebrating following a large number of nominations, seven runners up and three wins at the District 5 NODA awards.

"The awards dinner was held at The Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa in Bolton and was well attended with amateur theatre companies from across the area.

"Cameron Rowe and Catheryn Megan Hughes took home the awards for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Drama / Comedy for their outstanding portrayal of Hugo and Alice in The Vicar of Dibley.

"Long term member Paul Whur was recognised for his commitment and contributions to Tyldesley Little Theatre and awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. This was to honour his longstanding roles as Technical Lead in many productions, treasurer, the day to day running of the theatre and taking on the role of project manager in various restoration and building works completed to improve the theatre and its facilities for members and patrons.

"It was clear by Paul’s reaction on the night that this was an unexpected surprise for him and he was very pleased to receive such recognition!"

Something to Hide runs from Tuesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 23.
