THE history of Hall I’th’Wood estate will be explored in a new exhibition by residents.
The free “Our History” exhibition follows the development of the estate from the 1400s to the present day.
It includes farming across the centuries, with artists’ original drawing of homes on the estate, rent book and anecdotes about Walmsleys Limited, a paper roller manufacturer which employed many local people.
Past and present residents researched in Bolton History Centre’s archives for the project as well as hosting community events to gather stories from the wider community.
The exhibition runs from March 23 to April 30 at Hall I’th’Wood Museum, Green Way, Crompton Way. It is open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesdays and between 12pm and 4pm on Saturdays.
