THE stage is set for the trial of England’s most famous playwright.

William Shakespeare will himself take centre stage centuries after his death being accused that his work is boring ­— and sensationally of being out-of-date!

Shakespeare on Trial celebrates the works of the Bard more than 400 years

It is being performed by the musicians of Kearsley Youth Brass Band and the young thespians at St Stephen’s CE Primary School in Kearsley ­— with the audience acting as the jury.

The show takes place tomorrow at Kearsley Mount Methodist Church at 7pm.

BOLTON will be alive with the sound of music this week as musicians take to the stage for three nights of music.

The popular Bolton Music Centre Presents will be at the Albert Halls from Tuesday until Thursday, starting at 6.30pm.

It is a showcase of musical talent, with everything from classical to rock to suit all tastes.

On Saturday the Bolton Choirs Festival will take place at the Victoria Hall.

THERE’s still time to visit Desire, love, identity: exploring LGBTQ histories in Bolton, a ground-breaking exhibition celebrating diversity and cultural expression.

Run in partnership with the prestigious British Museum, Bolton Museum is the only venue in the region to host the touring exhibition.

It has been put together to mark 50 years since homosexuality was partially decriminalised in England by the Sexual Offences Act and includes ancient artefacts.
