A MAN has been arrested after a 15-year-old boy was knocked from his scooter in Farnworth.

The teenager was riding an electric scooter along Watson Road in the Harper Green area at around 1.50pm yesterday when a silver-coloured Audi A3 collided with him.

He suffered a broken ankle and was taken to hospital for treatment.

An investigation was launched by police, and a 24-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody for questioning.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.

Detective Sergeant Craig Wallace from GMP’s Bolton district said: “The consequences of this collision could potentially have been fatal.

“The victim and his family are understandably very shocked and we’d like to wish him well as he continues his recovery.

“We have arrested one person but our investigation does not stop here. We are appealing for witnesses or those with information or dashcam footage to contact us.

“Did you see the collision, or perhaps saw the scooter or car in the vicinity at the time? This occurred in daylight in a busy area, so we believe there may be a number of potential witnesses.”
