A DRIVER was arrested for possession of cannabis after failing to stop for police.
The male driver of a black Golf failed to stop for traffic patrols in Waggon Road, Breightmet, last night.
The vehicle ground to a halt in Deepdale Road, where the driver attempted to make a getaway on foot.
Following a short pursuit, police arrested the motorist.
Greater Manchester Police's traffic officers tweeted about the incident at 8pm yesterday: "Golf failed to stop for our patrol in Waggon Road, Breightmet, before coming to a stop in Deepdale Road where the driver attempted to make off into the estate. He was pursued on foot and detained!
"He was found in possession of cannabis as well as failing a drug test. He was arrested and the car was seized."
