LOOKING for something to do this week? From chocolate making to a fun family park challenge there is plenty going on in Bolton.

Here is our guide to five of the best things to do in the town this week:

ATTEND CAFÉ'S GRAND OPENING

A NEW fusion food café has opened its doors in Bolton town centre and you are invited.

Attend the opening night of the Market Place's newest addition: Basic Kneads at 5pm on Tuesday. The café will serve British classics infused with Mediterranean influences.

The three friends who started the business are inviting locals to join them to officially launch their venture. No tickets are required.

CHOCOLATE MAKING

CREATE your own bespoke chocolates with a helping hand from local makers and producers, Rivington Chocolates.

Various techniques will be covered, including hand building, truffle rolling, coating and decorating.

Hosted by Create Bolton, this master class will be led by head chocolatier Chris, who co-founded Rivington Chocolates in 2014.

The team won a Great Taste Award in 2017 for their blackcurrant and star anise bon bon.

The upcoming class will take place at Create Bolton in Bark Street on Thursday night. Create Bolton is a Christian charity that uses the arts and creativity to inspire and connect with people.

The session runs from 6pm until 9pm, and costs £45 per person.

XPLORER CHALLENGE

NAVIGATE your way around Haslam Park with the entire family to find the markers and complete the challenge.

An opportunity to explore the park in the Deane area of Bolton, Xplorer begins at 9am on Wednesday, April 17.

This is a free event and participants just need to register and collect their map from the bowling hut on the day.

NICCI AT BOLTON LIBRARY

WRITER and campaigner Nicci Gerrard lost her father to dementia, and has since set about exploring the illness that impacts so many lives.

She will appear at Bolton Central Library on Tuesday, April 16 in conversation about her new book ‘What Dementia Teaches Us about Love'.

The talk will take place from 1pm and will be accompanied by various information stands.

TEMPLE GONG MEDITATION

TAKE some time to relax over the Easter bank holiday with a sound meditation class at The Tao Temple in Little Hulton.

The session starts at 6.30pm on Friday, April 19 and will involve an hour-long ‘Gong Bath’ of healing sounds and vibrations.

Comfort is essential, so guests are advised to bring along their own cushions, blankets and yoga mats.
