A ONE-way system will be in place in part of Bolton town centre as demolition work takes place in Bank Street.

Work to knock-down two former town centre nightclubs in preparation for a major development project will start next Tuesday.

and is expected to take 16 weeks.

During this time a one-way system will be in place and traffic will not be able to travel northbound from Bradshawgate to Folds Road via Bank Street. A signposted diversion will direct traffic around Deansgate, Bridge Street and Bow Street.

Temporary traffic lights are in operation in Hartford Road, Westhoughton, to replace illuminated bollards. Work is due to finish on Friday.

Carl Street and Eskrick Street remain closed at the junction with Halliwell Road for the installation of a new gas main, with work due to finish at the end of the month.
