A TOWN centre road has been shut following a two-vehicle crash.
Officers were called to the collision, involving a white Mercedes van and a silver BMW, at the junction of Deansgate and Spa Road shortly before 5pm.
Following the crash, the van ploughed into a lamp post.
Fire engines and an ambulance have also been spotted at the scene.
Deansgate has been closed between Black Horse Street and the junction with Spa Road as a result of the crash.
Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured although the ambulance treated people at the scene.
