Here is our guide to five of the best things to do in the town this week:
CLASSIC FILM
THIS week’s parent and baby screening at The Light Cinema is 1985 classic The Goonies.
Enjoy this cult classic produced at the hands of Richard Donner, Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg, starring Sean Astin and Josh Brolin.
Follow the band of children as they try to find the treasure of legendary pirate One-Eyed Willy.
Parents are welcome to bring their children to this kid-friendly screening.
The lights will be up and the volume will be down to ensure a pleasant cinema experience for all.
Watch The Goonies at The Light in The Market Place shopping centre on Wednesday morning at 11.25am. Tickets are £5 and include a tea or coffee. Adults must be accompanied by a child to enter this screening.
There is time to chat afterwards in the green room.
THEATRE WITH THE FAMILY
THERE’S still time to catch the last few performances of Beauty and the Beast at The Albert Halls.
The show, by Joseph Purdy Productions, opened last week, but if you haven’t managed to find the time to watch it yet, there are still tickets available to the final two shows on Monday.
Performances begin at 11am and 3pm and tickets are £8 for adults and £7 for children.
