“DON’T let your weekend, be your weak-end”

This is a big one for clients. Through the week everything is going great, you have a routine, you plan and prep your meals for the next day and take all necessary goods with you to make sure you don’t get caught out.

Then it’s as if someone has just hit the ‘play’ button, the weekend arrives and everything goes out of the window and you have a big party.

Your rebellious inner child comes out to play — who cares about eating protein and veg and eating regular meals, I want carbs and more carbs and maybe some alcohol and I’ll eat when I like!

For many people, there is a real distinction between weekdays and weekends as that little voice creeps in whispering quietly in your ear “Well you’ve been ‘good’ all week so you can go ahead and enjoy yourself at the weekend”.

And break all the positive habits you have been working hard on during the week.

To anyone who is looking to make a change to their lifestyle, lose weight and feel healthier, it’s absolutely essential you reframe your current mindset about what happens from Friday to Sunday.

The harsh truth is you can’t ever expect to get the real results you want if you’re not prepared to rethink your current behaviours.

By all means, enjoy a couple of wines or a few pints and your favourite pizza if you’re happy to cut a few calories out from another meal during the day.

But ask yourself, how important is your goal? If you really do want it then what are you prepared to change and will you do it?
