KFC has announced that their Farnworth restaurant will open “at the end of this year”.
Planning chiefs at Bolton Council approved the plans for a new branch on land between King Street and Albert Road, in Farnworth town centre, in January.
The restaurant is set to create 40 jobs in the area, 20 full-time and 20 part-time, with it being expected that the restaurant manager will be the only position filled by a current KFC employee.
Despite plans being approved three months ago, work is still yet to start on the site, which used to be used to be a clinic.
Earlier this week, advertising consent was granted by Bolton Council to erect 14 fascia signs and 13 hoarding signs at the eventual site.
Keeping the exact planned opening date under wraps, KFC suggested it will be towards the end of 2019 and told customers to keep an eye out for more information in the near future.
A spokesman said: “We’re really keen to open a new KFC in Farnworth at the end of this year.
“KFC fans should keep their eyes peeled for more information soon.”
