WHEN Cleo Seddon left Bolton Hospice last year, doctors felt she would be lucky to see Christmas.

But Cleo, who has terminal lung disease, was not only able to celebrate Christmas, she has also been able to celebrate the 2019 birthdays of her two children.

Yesterday, she toasted the 21st birthday of her son, Tommi-Jai, at her home in Somerton Road.

"She's doing alright and in the past few days she has been coming downstairs," said her husband, Keith.

"There's ups and downs, but it's just one of those things. There's nothing we can really do about it except make the most of every day."

The family celebrated the landmark birthday with a takeaway and an intimate gathering.

It is the latest milestone that Cleo has been lucky enough to mark.

Last October, she and Keith finally tied the knot after being partners for almost 17 years.

The wedding, at Bolton Hospice, was brought forwards due to the seriousness of her condition, but once again, Cleo proved the doctors wrong.

Cleo told The Bolton News: "I just want to get through each day and enjoy and respect what I’ve got and not think about what I could have had.

“I’ve no regrets and I’m not scared of dying. I’m scared of missing out on what’s going to be happening when I’m not here.”

Cleo, a former lifeguard at Bury Baths, added: “You don’t have a choice about being born, you don’t have a choice about dying, but you do have a choice about what happens in between and that’s what matters."
