POLICE have arrested four people in an pre-planned operation to combat burglaries.

Three men and one woman were arrested as part of Operation Feline, on Wednesday morning.

One of the men was also arrested for possession of drugs with intent to supply.

On Facebook, GMP Bolton North posted: “The Bolton North Neighbourhood Team, Bolton Intelligence Team and the Bury Challenger Team have worked together on this pre planned operation targeting those hurting our communities.

“The offences for which the suspects are under arrest have occurred across Bolton North and Bury.

“They are currently in police custody and the investigation is continuing.

“Our local Neighbourhood Officers and Community Support Officers throughout the morning will be providing reassurance and conducting leaflet drops in the areas of Little Lever and Breightmet where these suspects were arrested.”

Inspector Nicola Williams, from the Bolton North Neighbourhood team said: “I’m really pleased. This is absolutely massive for us as there are a number of offences that we can put to them now.

“We’ve been involved in the operation for the last month, working with the Bury Challenger team to review all of the burglary offences in the north of Bolton.

“We’ve been looking at burglaries that fit a certain crime trend, collating lists of stolen property and conduction house-to-house enquiries.

“The team have worked really hard and we’re keen to work more with local people to tackle this problem. If you know what’s going please let us know, so we know best where to deploy our officers and tackle the issues.”
