EVERYONE dreams of a lottery win, but have you ever wondered who ends up with the cash?

Over the years, we have covered numerous stories of streets and neighbours who have scooped prizes on the People's Postcode Lottery; some life-changing and others less so.

The lottery — which is different to the National Lottery in that it operates by people's postcodes and makes all the locations of winning areas public — is played every week by thousands of people across the UK.

It also gives a minimum of 32 per cent from each subscription directly to charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

And with prizes handed out each week, as well as a monthly 'posctode millions' draw, we have looked at the data to find out which postcodes have bagged prizes in the last month.

There have been 10 winning postcodes in Bolton and surrounding areas since the beginning of April.

Bolton's most recent success was last Tuesday when postcode areas BL2 3RZ in Harwood and BL3 1RD in Little Lever won the daily prize of £1,000.

On April 29, Radcliffe households in M26 1QP were also celebrating the unexpected £1,000 winnings.

Kearsley residents living in BL4 8RR found success on April 25.

Other £1,000 prizewinners included Westhoughton postcode area BL5 3XR on April 22, and Kearsley BL4 8BQ on April 19.

Radcliffe (M26 2QX) won again on April 17.

Residents in Farnworth, Ainsworth and Astley Bridge (BL1 7RT on April 2, BL2 5SL on April 1, BL4 9TA on April 1) have also been lucky.

People play with their chosen postcodes for a chance to win cash prizes and winning postcodes are announced every day.

Only playing postcodes are entered into our draws, so all prizes must be won.

It costs £10 to be entered into all of the draws, paid monthly in advance.

Weekly prizes include £1,000 for every player whose postcode is drawn as one of 20.

And each month, the monthly Postcode Millions prize draw sees a postcode sector all win a share of £3 million.

Since January 6, 2011, there have been 77 of the monthly £3 million wins across Bolton.
