BOLTON Central Library will be hosting a Local and Family History Market Place on Saturday from 10.30am to 3pm.

Visitors can talk to various local and family history groups and find out more about what they do as well finding out how to research family history at the History Centre ­— with help from the Family History Society.

The local groups and societies are active in researching and publishing information about their areas.

Their members are very knowledgeable and are happy to help with any enquiries people may have. Society meetings are well attended as they bring interesting and knowledgeable speakers to talk to their members.

Groups taking part include the Bolton Whitman Group, Bolton Family History Society, Bolton Archaeology and Egyptology Society, Westhoughton Local History Group, Turton Local History Society, Historical Association: Bolton Branch, Great Lever and Morris Green Society, Halliwell Local History Society, Farnworth Local History Society, Bolton and Bury Canal Society, Blackrod Local History Society, Belmont Local History Society, Astley Bridge Reminiscence Group, Barlow Institute and Edgworth War Memorial and more.
