THE music of Sinatra and other swing legends will be performed at the Victoria Hall next month.

Matt Ford, billed as one of the finest big band singers in the UK, will be taking to the stage to recreate the hits with Fodens Brass Band for a charity evening organised jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Wigan and Bolton with Le Moors to support local and international rotary supported charities

Mayors of both towns will be at the Victoria Hall for the event.

A spokesman for the Victoria Hall said: "Matt has worked with many celebrated orchestras and bands.

"We are delighted that for this historic rotary event, Matt is performing with Fodens Brass Band from Sandbach in Cheshire.

"The band is one of the top brass bands in the world and they are National Brass Band Champions of Great Britain this year and have won many championship titles.

"The band has a prestigious history and has had the honour of playing for the Royal Family at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

"The partnership of Matt Ford and Fodens Band in The Victoria Hall is guaranteed to provide audiences with a rare opportunity to enjoy the finest music in a hall that musicians describe as having the finest acoustics in the country.

"It will be a wonderful musical extravaganza and the money raised will be used to help the people of Bolton and Wigan through the work of rotary serving the community."

The concert will take place on Saturday, June 8.
