THE writer behind such classic works as The Lord of The Rings is to be celebrated in a new exhibition at The Fusilier Museum in Bury.
Tolkien on the Somme: The Origins of Middle Earth opens on July 12 and tells the fascinating story of Tolkien’s service as a Signals Officer with the 11th Battalion, The Lancashire Fusiliers, as well as exploring the effect that his service had on his later works including The Lord of the Rings,The Hobbit and Silmarillion.
