A CHILD was forced to share a seat belt with his mum in a car after the car seat had been filled with the driver's personal items.

Police officers found a child sat in his mother's lap in the passenger seat while stopping a car without insurance in Bolton last night.

The pair were sharing the same seat belt despite there being a car seat in the vehicle. The car seat was found filled with the driver's belongings instead.

The car was seized and a traffic offence report was handed out.

In a Facebook post, GMP Bolton North said: "Officers stopped this car earlier... he had no insurance... his child was also sat on his mother’s lap in the passenger seat sharing the same seat belt whilst the child seat had the drivers personal stuff in it! TOR issued. Vehicle seized! #PC16506"
