PATIENTS in Bolton can take advantage of evening and weekend appointments at three locations in the borough.

As part of Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group's plans to improve access to GPs three hubs offer appointments for people who find daytime appointments difficult.

Patients registered with any Bolton GP can now book evening and weekend appointments between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm on weekdays, and between 9 am and 1 pm on weekends.

Appointments are available at the Winifred Kettle Centre in Washacre Lane, Westhoughton; Waters Meeting Health Centre, Waters Meeting Road in Astley Bridge; Urgent Treatment Centre at Royal Bolton Hospital, Minerva Road, Farnworth.

Patients cannot just walk-in to these services and must make an appointment with their regular GP.

In May it was revealed that patients all over the country are finding it hard to see their GP and that waiting over a week to see a GP was becoming increasingly common. Late and weekend appointments are designed to combat this.
