A MAN has been taken to hospital after reports of assault.

Police were called to reports of an assault on a man in Horace Street, Halliwell in the early hours of yesterday morning. No arrests have been made.

Just after 2am, man in his 20s was found with suspected head injuries and was taken to hospital.

Horace Street was taped off yesterday morning while investigations continued. The cordon has now been lifted but enquiries are still ongoing.

The police have appealed for more information, asking anyone with details to come forward quoting incident number 158 of 15/05/19.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Shortly after 2am today (Wednesday 15 May 2019) police were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Horace Street in Halliwell, Bolton.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with suspected head injuries.

There was a cordon in place on Horace Street while investigation work was carried out. This has since been lifted."

The police spokesman added: "No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
